If you're wondering what happened to the main website (www.basic4gl.net)... Basically it's gone down and could stay that way until I can afford to put it back up again, which could be a couple of months. (My hosting expired just after christmas and my wedding, so money is a bit tight at the moment...)
Btw, if anyone has any spare web/ftp space they wouldn't mind lending for a couple of months, I basically need:
4.3 meg for the Basic4GL installer. 1.5 meg for the main website + tuts and images. .8 meg for the demos and examples.
Drop me an email at tmulgrew@slingshot.co.nz
Cheers, -Tom

Aggh!
Tom, let me look into it... I run a web server myself but have direct access to the computer. I'll need to configure my FTP program to work. If I can swing it, I may be able to do it for a month or two. I'll get back to you on this.
One thing that would make it really great is if a few others who also have websites could offer to host the executable (which is the largest file) on their site so we could have a few mirrors for users to download it from.
Tom, how many downloads do you get on an average month?

This is a good start. Don't worry about all the other files. My main concern was setting up a few mirrors for the installer as it's the largest one.
Put it up on your site, make sure it works for download, then let me know. Anyone else who can volunteer some space for this file, let me know!

Shouldn't... it's a free one.

Ok, it has 50 megs of space on it. So I take it, that will work for the download. I will see if I can't figure out how to put it on a web page somehow.
I am not very good with HTML. But I will give it a shot. If anybody can help me with getting a link to it on a web page, I would appreciate it. That would save me from a lot of dancing around tutorials and stuff....lol. thanks Jay

Dude... when did 2.2.6 come out? I see no announcement for it, and the latest I have is 2.2.5. Is yours really 2.2.6?
If we're going to mirror this, we're going to need to make sure we're all on the same page.

Hmmm... Would I be able to point my www.basic4gl.net address at it? The other issue is traffic. Most people tend to view the main page, then go straight to the download link (which was what I had intended). The last time I checked the download logs, the Basic4GL setup file was getting about 50 hits per day. I'm not sure whether 1 hit = 1 download though.. and that was a few months ago. (I'll try and dig out some better figures when I get home.) -Tom

"Would I be able to point my www.basic4gl.net address at it?" Unfortunatly no. hosting would have cost me twice as much to have that feature. traffic shouldent be a problem though. my bandwidth is 'unmetered'. so I have a LOT. ranger: someone send me them and ill put them up.
