I try I think if you ever wanted speed with more than that you would have to write an actual network engine in c++ -Darkjester

You wouldnt need to learn a terribly lot about c++ you could even get a couple of people to make a networking engine for you, (i might make one in the near future) I have some experience with c++, Have you got some storyline, I coulde help make textures and models, and help with the coding if i have time.

I think, if your planning to make an MMO your design doc might need to be a little more than a page. There's a lot to consider you do realise that don't you? Have a look at this, to me that's just the tip of the iceberg. I could rant for hours as to why you definitely should not start coding an MMO as a first project.

yea i might disagree with supermonkey on somme things but i defantlty agree with him on this one reason why you shouldnt code a MMO for a first porject is that there are so many things that you have acknowledge so many concepts, so many different kinds of people, but the thing is even if you were to try to make a 2D MMO it would still be hard so imagine a 3rd dimension.............well neways supermonkey is right you should probably start off with mini games like pong..........then work up to mario, then 2D physics.......then add that 3rd dimension..........well enough rambiling on forvever lol...........just start simple and youll start to get the hang of it
