At first I had made another attempt to make a game in Basic4gl; which instead of another attempted RPG I was going to try to make a platformer for a change. I eventually got tired of trying to type in the map data so I decided I would try to make a map editor with the Visual Basic Express software that was at the time only taking up space on my harddrive, since I had never really used it beforehand. I ended up spending a couple months learning how to use VB as I went along with trying to create the editor, which I ultimately ended up going overboard with creating it and will continue to do so until I get bored with it. It's finally working well enough that I can make an alpha release, and I'm able to load the editor projects into a basic4gl program. Anywho, tldr. Here's the sourceforge link if you care to try out the editor: sourceforge.net/projects/dmeditor/And I'll post the code for how to load the projects into basic4gl once I have it ready; I'm currently translating the code for autotiles.

Hi Nate, nice program. I just downloaded it. I was thinking of doing something similar myself in C# or VB but I never got around to it.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, I'm in the midst of fixing a few bugs/adding features. Hopefully I'll have a 0.8 version ready to release by monday or so...
Would anyone know of a good way in the .Net framework to run code a user inputs into a string? I'm wanting to eventually add a built in game engine to the map editor and allow someone who has little experience programming to code game events/entities; ie: "RUN:ENTITY:DIRECTION:DISTANCE" would call a function that would cause a specified entity to move in a certain direction displaying a running animation until it reaches a point... [Edit:] Nevermind, I just figured out how I'm going to do the event coding... maybe...
