Hey guys,
It has been a while but my latest project so far been in development for a couple of months needed a RegKey for the game so when it comes down to the games release I have the system in place.
What this does is have a regkey in a text file and in the game and if the file is different to the games reg key returns a error. This was created in 10 mintutes, 5 minutes was used recapping the fileloading functions and figuring out how to make this work.
here is the code:
This is just as simple as I could make it.
Also I will be developing a C++ app that is used as a launcher and it will check my online database of all regkeys if they are being used simultaneously if so will send me a email stating that the regkey is being used on 2 machines. The launcher will then change the regkey in the second user regkey to 000000000 so that he will be using a demo version of the game.
Well enjoy it and hopefully soon I will have a version of my game ready for you guys to test it out. This game has been in development for a couple of months but the actual time I spent on the game so far has only being 6 hours as I have been busy with work.
If you can use this in your project that will be awesome and have a good day/night

' RegKey for Apps and Game
' Created by Wayne Rayner
' Version 0.0.1
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

dim RegKey$, TextRegKey$, TextFile
' These variables are for the RegKey$ in the game and in the text
' if these are different it will print "reg key incorrect"
' if they are the same it will print "correct reg key loading game"
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
' Game RegKey

' The Reg Check process
TextFile = OpenFileRead("regkey.txt")
TextRegKey$ = ReadLine(TextFile)
if RegKey$ = TextRegKey$ then
goto GameStart:
else print "Incorrect Reg Key"

CloseFile(TextFile)
GameStart:
Print "RegKey is correct loading Game"
