Hey guys,
So I have been thinking about this for a few days and decided I will post a development log for me on the only current project I have. It is a NASCAR like team manager that will currently not be licensed but will be heavily based on NASCAR. You start off as a limited schedule team and try and gain the sponsorship and funds to operate multiple cars full time. Development time is between 1 and 3 years for this game with gameplay demo between 2 - 6 months time. All this depends on my development schedule and whether or not I can complete this project.
25th November 2015:
Started development on StockCar Championship Manager
26th November 2015:
Got most of the new game setup the player has to do to get in the game. Currently need to add starting sponsor (Sort of a difficulty level) Upfront Payment. Per Race Payment, Bonus Payment for achieving sponsor goals and contract length races. Need to also generate 50 AI cars some run by teams with multiple cars and some with only single cars, some limited schedule cars. Each Car must have a number between 0 and 99 and must not be the same number as any previously selected car. Player gets first car number choice. Then need to generate drivers for each cars (Since it will be the innaugural championship season each drivers race stats will be 0 but need to randomly generate skills for each driver also need to generate skills for each opponent. Once I can generate all of this I will be able to start with the in game menu layouts and then work on race generation. All of this should be completed between 1 - 6 months time depending on how much development time I get.
Game Current Version 0.1.3
Change Log: Will add it soon
I will update you with any changes and progress I make with the game. I have a tough challenge ahead with the generation of teams but I sort of have a cheating way of doing it by pre programming the teams and how good they are and I will have a pre programmed system that if a team goes bankrupt they get replaced by another team or team that adds an extra car to their roster. The driver system is where it will get challenging. I will pre program probably 100 drivers that will get selected by the opponents or the player and then use a first and last name list and randomly generate new talent all of this system will be bare bones but hopefully I will have something to show before Christmas and hopefully have some playable prototype of the game ready for January or February for you guys. This going to be text and button based game and the races will be generated and you can see a live timing board but not the race track. However maybe in a sequel to this game (If it ever happens will have features I want but I cannot include in the first game because of taking too long). In reality I want this game to be released 1st Quarter of 2017 but am happy if development is delayed or faster than expected. Not sure really to expect of this game and not sure if I will keep the motivation for the development but I think this will give me extra motivation.
