Well, it looks like we have about three mirrors, which is pretty decent. I don't know how the geocities ones will hold up, they tend to have limited bandwidth.
If there's anyone else there who has web space and can donate space (5MB) and a little bandwidth (I'm guessing about 20MB a day based on the current number of mirrors, but the more we get the less load), let me know!
If we can split it up enough that nobody takes too big of a hit, we will put the site up again. It'll be hosted through my personal ISP connection, that's my concern with bandwidth although it's not limited too much.
I'm going to look into it a little more, I'll post again.
Again, any volunteers, please speak up! =)

I have some web space through my isp that I'm willing to donate. I'm not using it and have no idea how to code in html. I could upload files someone else made though.
I think it is restricted to 10MB in size,5,000 hits/week and 33MB a day in bandwidth. My email should be in my profile.

That has nothing to do with you. I visit geocities accounts many times that give me a screen that gives me a message that the account has reached its limit for bandwidth.
My point was simply... it's great to have another mirror, but the number of downloads it will allow per day is likely to be limited.

Hi
I've just joined the yahoo groups, as I think thats a great place to post files.
Tom - I'm sure you have been as impressed and as grateful for all these offers of help for basic4gl - it is a great program, and this response is a testament to that.
However (and I may be painted as a pariah here), and not meaning any disrespect to the offers above, I see that you have two ways forward with basic4gl, if you are having difficulties supporting the website financially.
1. If you really want basic4gl to remain free, then use sourceforge, and open source licensing.
2. Go commercial, with various options for free hobby use, and commercial distribution of completed games. Its already a sellable product, and is improving all the time.
Anyway, just my 2p
Chris

Still need some space?
I have 20MB of space No traffic limit and no downtime. No scripting though, so you could only host files. If you would like it, just give me an email.
It currently has a domain name attached to it, so it is ONLY for webspace.
Free, no strings. All good.

Hello Tom. I used to have an account here, but i lost them... now i did create another one to have the posibility to write you. Well, i was playing Basic4GL For some time and i think this is a really big and goo project wich can't be off, this can help a loot of people wich have great knoweledge, autodidacts, but can't buy a software like DarkBasic, or Blitz Basic. I hope you can continue the development of Basic4GL. So if you need, i can hosting you. I can give you 30mb with 1gb bandwith with your own domain, 2 email accounts, and some extra things. If you're insterested, we can comunicate, jut give me your agree to my email, or we can chat ussing Aol or yahoo messengers. Thanks for your good job. Roberto.

Update!
I've payed my web hosting subscription. (Turned out to be less expensive than I had thought.) The website should hopefully be up again in a day or two, depending on how long it takes for these things to go through (and whether I have to re-upload the site.)
I have to say I'm extremely grateful for all the people who have given or offered web space or other solutions. I'm regularly surprised by the amount of support for this humble little compiler. And I'm sorry I haven't managed to reply to everybody (Things have been a little up-in-the air lately!)
Anyway, thanks to all. Things should be back to normal in a couple of days.
Cheers, -Tom

Hey, even though I'm new here and I'm Russian trust me.. Request an account at www.dhost.info, which offers an excellent free webhosting package. When you transfer your website onto their servers, use a free URL redirection service like www.tz4.com to make your URL nice and short. Then you'll have a completely free website! Please, Tom, consider doing this. If you can't pay for the webhosting, it doesn't matter. We all love Basic4GL and don't care if the URL is www.basic4gl.tz4.com rather than www.basic4gl.net. Just as long as you can keep the project going on give us updates on its development!
