Well, we finally had to do it. We turned off the guest posting.
This is by no means an affront to anybody (I've always liked having a laid-back discussion board), but simply because there was too much spam being posted, and it's becoming too much of a pain to delete it.

Is there any way you can make it viewable to guest's... But not postable?

I should also note that anybody having difficulty getting their account approved, drop me an email.
There have been some issues for people with aol email addresses. (And I also need reminding to check the pending account approvals list occasionally..)

Is there a specific reason why you need to approve every registration? so he can reveiw who he lets in "non programming spammers" or "programmers with a crave for sharing their work and veiwing others"
