Like Madcow suffested before we should have an option at the top of your program you can something like "Basic4GL_Advanced" and should have a few C++ on it then, so could be something like this ... Basic4GL_Advanced
Dim a = 5 Dim b = a Dim c = a*b
a+=1 'add 1 onto a c*=a 'times c by a and the the value to c b = a = c 'make b & a = c
if a == (c=b) Then a = b * c Endif
'== equal I'd love more C++ added. Nicky

I couldn't disagree more, its just not BASIC anymore when you add things like the == operatorl. I can see the point of ++, +=, etc operators and I beleive Tom has added variable initialisation when DIMming a variable, but please no ==...

Hi there,
please, not C or C++ syntax here. BASIC have to be BASIC and not a nightmare dream.

I agree with Super and Peter, if you want to use C++ or C then there's a lot of IDE's going around, might i recommend Code::Blocks if you dont have it already. I am very satisfied with the basic syntax and its operators, it might not be the quickest method writing Dim x x = 340 but it works. No complaints. -Harry

I'm afraid I'm against this idea, too. There are some features of C++ I like, but if I wanted to code in C++, I would not write my code in the Basic4GL editor. I like ++, --, *=, /=, +=, -=, and all those other nice shortcuts, but supermonkey's right. It isn't BASIC if its got ==.

Yeh inc and dec are the basic way, I agree it would be good if they were added.

no c++ stuff added pls. Inc and dec yes, but we can implement those ourselves. If i want c++ i code in c++ , but I dont want that stuff into b4gel (btw don't know if you believe me people, but b4gel has some kind of magical influence on me. I rewrote the string$ (custom class), vector, matrix, and parts of the sprite system in c++ so that i can use stuff like "left(string1,3,4)" or "a=vec3(x,y,z)" in my c++ programs. b4gel is a culture and a way of life. I dont want it ruined, like c++ did to many of my late night hours of coding )

Hi zack, if you're interested in C++ programming, download Code::Blocks from here. Make sure that you get the following version... codeblocks-8.02mingw-setup.exeOh & btw, welcome to the forum.
