Im pleased to anounce that i will be making and releasing the block engine! It is an entire engine using blocks and other crude shapes(that are made from blocks) the engine features: -lighting -texturemapping -3dmodel loading -collision -ai -Map editor -terrain maps -Bumpmapping -Texturemapper tool -collision solver(simplifys the collision checks!) -octrees(work in progress-difficult-Plugin?) -other

Sounds cool. Will the lighting be made of blocks, too?

Lol It really has nothing to do with blocks. Im implementing a Dynamic Lighting engine That includes colors specular highlights diffuse components and has bumpmapping(part of the lighting equation) speeds things up if its part of the same system. The physics will contain rigid body(I got the springs worked out Djlinux)And softbody physics(meat engine) parts of the mesh will break apart. I got more in the works but thats what im currently working on.

Those are the pics for the RTS that this engine is going to render.
Working on my own type of texture mapping
Ambient/Diffuse/specular bump mapping. Uses the Diffuse to generate the mips, then the speculare makes it shiny (think halo), Anbient keeps the light sournce element down. Experiemental at best but it might work

I got my first faze of my renderer semi complete Heres a picture Its garbled data (result of custom matrix transformation will be fixed when i add the collision testing!)
