My 3-4 years experience in programming I'll tell you its best to start off with a basic langauge then a pro langauge.

yea he is right i tryed to start in C++ and i really couldnt do it so i started to loook for somthing easier, that when i found basci4gl, once i found it i started learning stuff in it and eventually had enough knowledege to try C++, when i went back to C++ it was is much easier to learn it because i had learned all of the basic conecpts in basic4gl(i dont even know hardly any C++, but when i want to learn some it easier because basic4gl gave me a good start)

Yea same i also tried to start in c++ about three months ago but it was starting to get annoying because u had to keep on debuging it. So i then found b4gl and i'm not going to learn any other programing language unless i have 2 wayne

well i would really recomend most of basic4gl , cause it a good starter languge then once u start to get most of the concepts in basic4gl you move to C++, which is more complicated

Let me emphasize on the well i would really recomend most of basic4gl , cause it a good starter languge then once u start to get most of the concepts in basic4gl you move to C++, which is more complicated once you write fluent code, neat and structured (yea i went their smc:P) jk jk.. anywho, then you will have the building blocks to learn a more complex language, which i would recomend freebasic since it shares a lot of elements of c++ and after you get some nice programs then move on to c++, but when you do write some plugins it will help you understand structure without knowing to much c++. happy coding -Darkjester

Another thing about C++ is its portable. Almost all Conole Games use C++, whereas Basic4gl is limited to windows. I still stick with Basic4GL!
