ok im gonna write a porgam that "scans" the file for suspicoous code or language it can "warn" you if it believes it suspicous and if you wish to continue and if there are any know viruses it will delete, block, close, or anything else to get rid of the virus unless you give it persmion

Not to be funny or anything but there is a reason most people don't bother with this stuff. It's not quite as simple as opening every file on your computer and having a quick poke around you know .

I was reading somewhere that you should atleast 10 years experience in programming before you even attempt an anti-virus. if I find the link I'll give it you.

Heh, I say give it a shot. It might be good to know how to write a virus. That is where I would start! Coding a virus is like coding a pet, you get to watch it grow on a system. Its kind of like watching the game of life.

Seriously? I don't see the harm in it if you are doing it on an isolated system. I have an old laptop (133mhz compaq) that I've messed around on. Its never on the net and has only a cdrom. 100% harmless to experiment on.
To make an effective Anti-Virus you need to understand how a virus works. So effectively, you are discussing 'viruses' on the forum as well.

The idea behind not discussing viruses because of an "incident" on a certain site containing similar posts, resulted in "FBI" "Interference" Thus the site was torn down "forcefully"

Hmm, seems hard to believe. What site was that? I've bought books on virus coding and never had FBI show up. Hell I used to host tuts on how to code virus, and nobody ever tore me down. Now if its against the policy of proboards, then by all means, lets end this thread.

Besides, we are mentioning that one must understand a virus to fight it. We have not discussed any technical details on how to actually make one.
