I made a chatroom (well its just a room in a chatroom, but I thought it would help aswell so other people can join in). The best way to get to it is probaly using mIRC. IRC ADDRESS AND PORT: irc.crazychat4u.com: 6667 I'm not to sure if they have a java to be honest, you'll probaly have to use mIRC. Check there site and take a look about, there might be one ... www.crazychat4u.com/EDIT(0): The room name is under "Basic4GL" i'll make certain people a moderator. EDIT(1): They do have a java chat! www.crazychat4u.com/chat/

Yes it's picked up quite a bit so far it's had Nicky (obviously), Supermonkey, Davy, and me. Perhaps someone can put a link to it on the main site instead of that one that no one ever goes onto.

Edit: How do you work mIRC?

Edit: How do you work mIRC? I'll get a mIRC installer and a help file and put it in a .ZIP folder for yeah (and then maybe someone can put it up on the main site). mIRC works with scripts (yeah its got tis own langauge in it, which can be found everywhere), I'll gether up a couple of scripts, so you can choose your font/background colors, and other useful scripts.

I'll just explain from here actually then maybe someone will add all this to a wiki page. First download mIRC. Next install it on your computer. Once installed open it up. You might then need to register it (to register on mIRC go to: "help > register .." then type in your "Full name" & registration name get them by this .exe]mIRC keygen.) YOU DON'T NEED TO REGISTER, ONCE YOUR 30 DAYS IS OVER, YOU CAN STILL CONTINUE ON USING THE PROGRAM. Anyways, lets carry on how to use it. First load up options by hitting the keys "alt+o" unless the mIRC options are already up. Once on options on the left side you will see "connect" press on that. Now type in your details (your name, your email address, nickname on servers, alternative nickname incase the nick is being used on the server). Now on the left hand side again press on "server" (press the "+" by the connect to get it up), its got a list of servers that you can go on. if it hasn't got the server you want (like the one the basic4gl is on) to join, press on "add" then add the correct server details ours is ... Desciption: What you want IRC Server: irc.crazychat4u.com Ports: 6667 Group: Whatever you want now press "add" then press on "select" then when you've selected it press on "connect to server"! (on the connect part of the options). to join rooms type: "/join #channel" then press enter or type "/list" then you'll get a list of the rooms to go in. I'll explain how to use scripts, etc if people want (to set iin colors, etc).

I know I shouldn't make triple posts but I just wanna know if people would like if I made room for Python, C, C++, etc? So people can talk about other porgrams and maybe get people from C/C++/Python/etc to come in them.

Yes, I think you should make another room, perhaps instead of having several rooms for each language maybe there should be just a general programming one and then the B4GL one.

Here is a guide to using ChatZilla to access the Basic4GL IRC channel. First make sure you're running Firefox. Then install the ChatZilla add-on. After restarting Firefox click the Tools menu then the ChatZilla item. You might be asked some questions now such as what do you want your Nickname to be. You can change your Nickname at anytime in ChatZilla just by clicking the Preferences... option in the ChatZilla menu. To join the Basic4GL channel just do the following... Type /server irc.crazychat4u.com Once connected type /list to list the channels. To join the Basic4GL channel just type /join #Basic4GL If you want to leave at anytime just type /quit

I've stickied this thread. Seems like a good idea.
I've also updated the "Chat" button to be an IRC hyperlink to the channel. (Takes me straight there with Firefox and Chatzilla).
Cheers, -Tom

KEEP PEOPLE UPDATED
With had Supermonkey, Tom, Charles, Matthew, SocomSniperAJ, Dave & me.
By the way it would really help, if people could stay in there, like keep thereselfs logged in, people would stay more then, and people could pm people and ask questions and wait for a reply.
EDIT:
Thanks Tom!
