I'll email Tom, see if he's going to renew the domain and see if he's still planning to work on b4gl. If not I'll ask him to give us the latest code so we can bung it on sourceforge I'm sure he wouldn't say no to that. Thing is though, I don't see anyone really adding to b4gl now there's been the chance to extend the capabilities of basic4gl and really only djlinux contributes in that field, I certainly think b4gl has reached its pinnacle so to speak.
Oh and I wouldn't all go bombarding his inbox that's just plain annoying.

I already have sourceforge site for basic4gl, if you could pass it along to me supermonkey if he does give it you. i shall add it to my sourceforge site (i'll also quickly recreate the other parts of the site onto the sourceforge one and updae some areas of it and then that'll be basic4gls home for a while ). This is the site as it stands: basic4.sourceforge.net/

Ive got teh zip and posibly the installer for Basic4gl 2.5.8 if you would like me to upload it somewhere so taht it can still be accessed, maybe put it on the sourceforge site? If everyone here truly loves basic4gl, lets spread it around lets get it out there! we need ideas to get more information around, I remember the e-zine we were going to make for it, im all up for more tutorials and stuff. Send me messages if you want to make an e-zine or ideas for tutorials. And post ideas in this thread about getting basic4gl back off the ground. -darkjester

Yeah it would be a great idea to upload the zip and exe for 2.5.8 to source-forge. It should have at least one download location, as right now, any one wishing to download doesn't have this possibility. And for the e-zine, no offense to anybody but unless someone good decides to do some tutorials, it won't have any future. An e-zine full with 20 pages of tutorials like "how to print a character to the screen" and "how to load a sprite" and no serious demonstration of what b4gel can do has nothing great in it... Currently we lack the coders required to make a good magazine. I can join with a few tutorials if we get at least 2 people contributing, but the efforts might be in vain... And the second important thing is that the functionality of b4gel is continuously being enlarged through plugins. I know Supermonkey said no one is really contributing except DJLinux, but I can count at least 4-5 other plugins made by me and others on the forum. I am also in the process of finalizing some of my projects and I can use a lot of code from those. So I propose that as a separate section of your e-zine, if we end up making one, a section that presents the plugins made by the community aiming at incorporating them in the main language, and showing how to use them and for what, with examples...

I remember that some people on the forum were planning on making a basic4gl commercial for youtube, but it was never created to my knowledge. However I have a plan:
-First, we all use the avi capture plugin on some of our best programs
-Second, we post the video clips to my wikispace
-Third, I would download the video clips and edit them together and create a really good commercial for Basic4gl
-Fourth, I post it to youtube

Suggestions of programs? I might have one or two. Besides that, I suggest the beams game, and the program DJLinux made (with the cool cars). EDIT: I'm recording as we speak. I'll upload to the wiki. Until then I'll open a separate thread for this.
