Found this on another forum, apparently DarkBASIC Pro can now be downloaded for free from here. It appears to be paid for by banner adverts at the bottom of the IDE but over than that is supposed to be identical to the paid version in every way.

First I was going to delete this because I assumed it was piracy, then I was shocked to see it was posted by you, then I was shocked to see it was perfectly legal and was on the official site.
Good find, that's going to cause some free languages a few problems, as far as a game making tool goes DBPro is very impressive.

I've been spamming the link to the free DarkBASIC version on a few forums today. Now a friend on another forum has sent me a link asking me whether I knew the Unreal Game Engine SDK was available for free too from here. ;D

Have you got it working yet?
Did you make sure you registered it correctly; I've had no problems with it so-far.

Oh, that's a nice idea from the TGC. I've been a DBPro user for quite a long time now, and this way will enable many new people to get into the programming world easier and more fun.
I personally used DBPro for a lot of my projects because when you need something done fast, a high level basic language like that is going to be quite useful. For example, i managed to get a decent, but simple 3d modelling application done in less than a week, however, it's quite best at 3D game creation.

Does the free DBPro actually compile? I thought I picked it up before I bought it and I could never compile the code to test it. I assumed it was like the free version of FPSC... A lie... But then I bought it and other than their not so perfect IDE DBPro is a pretty awesome tool.
