how long do you need to wite a IDE ? Josh is currently at College, so he's probably too busy Studying, Working and having Fun (though not necessarily in that order) to work on the IDE. Matthew is correct i have some time coming up and its finals are the next 2 weeks so busy busy, but ill have some time coming up hopefully i can nail something down but givin the lack of interest in im no hurry anyway

Being a bit of a noob, I have to ask, are there any differences between your compiled version and the 2.5.6 or 2.5.8 out aside from being ported to a new computer platform ?

No, there shouldn't be any difference. We just want to try and create a version of Basic4GL that can be compiled from source 100% and run on different Operating Systems.

Awesome! I've had a really good idea brewing for quite some time, but will probably need features like dynamic memory to make it possible.
I do have a quick question for anyone who's looked at (understood) the source code:
To what extent is the interpreter multi-threaded? The absolute max amount of CPU I can get B4GL to use on my i7 is 12.5% (So, one single thread). Granted this is an aging language... But the CPU's out nowadays have so much more potential...
Also, is it possible to bump the variable memory cap to at least 1GB? I find 400ish MB to be insufficient for... things. Unless changing that is tediously difficult, then I'll just stick to being creative about memory.

Thanks for hte quick motivation shadow, was looking for what the hell i needed to do today xD i was thinking about those things as well, i feel like it could increase speed if it was multithreaded. I've been working on the memory cap as well, and dynamic memory should help with that quite a bit. that way apps dont bloat out when your using arrays, strings etc.

400 MB should be ok, if you run out of memory i wrote plugin's for dynamic memory. Threads are a great feature im some cases but i personaly don't need it if i play with Basic4GL.

In any case, for dynamically expanding arrays. You can easily Hack it into Basic4GL via Subroutines and Alloc commands.
Which I used heavily in my B4Messanger Program.
