I discovered a post on the FreeBASIC forum today which said that the BlitzPlus Programming Language can be downloaded for free, for just a limited time from here. I've installed it and it works fine, it states that it will also work on Vista and Windows 7 but I haven't had the chance to try it.

The problem with Blitz-Plus (and why I didn't choose it), it PEGs the computer at 100% when you run any program in it when I experimented with it. I like B4GL and Blitz-Max in that they only use up usage % of your computer based upon what task you are giving it and based upon how well you are using sleep() or what have you to give time back to the computer.
You also get smoother graphics. Blitz-Max does a smooth scrolling effect the same as B4GL. Blitz-Plus staggers on a slow computer.
