Hey guys,
If you have checked the I'm back thread you would know that I'm programming a game engine and a level (City) with AI. Just people walking a round for now.
The gameplay for this game is around building a criminal enterprise. Hiring drivers, collectors (for money), hitmen and other people that will help you.
Basically the strategy part is that running a criminal organisation and making it hit the top of all gangs in the game. (That is the strategy goal)
Now with that you have to start somewhere. You start as a small time (collector, driver or hitman). Each have their perkes in the game and each has a different start. As you rise up in the gang certain elements of running a gang becomes unlocked. When you are just bout to be a district manager for the gang the worst day of your life unfolds, the gang literally becomes split to form 11 smaller gangs. You and your few friends are the 12th gang (the smallest at that moment).
While running the gang you are trying to find out why the gang was split.
Basically there are missions like GTA. Gang control like Godfather apparently and well FPS like your favourite FPS game.
This will be programmed using C++ and Direct X.
The reason I'm posting this is for feedback and what you like about it and what you don't. I'm starting to form the GDD (Game Design Document).
My goal for this project is really to give me experience in Game Design and programming using a engine created by me. There is a 100 to 1 chance I will even get this project to a working module, but I want to try so I will.
The second part is once I fail by myself I write a pitch for the game and try to get a publisher to help fund for the project.
Obviously the second will only work if I move to a place near a publisher and if I can write a good enough pitch for a publisher so the likely hood for that is Nill.
