I wish you luck DJ!
Hey I heard from my local geeks (the Deception Bay Research Center members, they're like Xerox's Palo Alto Research Center wannabies, anyways) that they're building their own wrapper for the Low-Level IO C library that replaces the Low-Level IO functions with ones that handles PKZIP archives like directories.
e.g. myFileHandle = open("myfolder.zip/test.txt", _O_RDONLY, _S_IREAD);
If you think an interface like that would help with your project I'll check with my comrades to see how they're going with it for you.

im not running basic4gl in c++, im making the same engine (simple opengl 1.1 based with enhancements to the c++ version)the graghical part will be somewhat identitical to the c++ version, the thing that has been holding back the development is lack of sound access, i couldnt find a sound lib i liked until i found out how to use openal, and audiere(basic4gl uses this ) now to networking anyone have ideas on a simple c++ networking lib that uses udp? or perhaps tcp? -darkjester

Something I've always liked about 3D graphics is how straight lines can look so curvy. My interest level is around a 1 or 2 right now, because I haven't been given any information to make it interesting.

Not to be rude, but honestly around 1 or 2 here as well. Even in the professional gaming/coding world, I'm not seeing anything all that interesting come up.

Well.. i have been really effing busy so i have not been coding much lately. with school starting this tuesday im hoping for that to change. But lately now that i HAVE been coding i have only been working on flash games. But it looks like i will have to start using C++ and B4GL again to help get this forum alive again.

Well for me 6 to 7 as I would like to know how to use c++ like you can, but I'm not good with programming 3D stuff. I might try a little to 2D scrolling game that proves myself I can do a 2D game. But right now I have begun development on my racing manager game. But I need help with that as I need to know how to make screens with buttons.
