I just downloaded the freeDOS image from the disk image page on the BOCHS site: bochs.sourceforge.net/diskimages.htmland if you extract the files and than run command.com it acctualy works on my windows 7 beta. This is pretty random, but my point is why run it in BOCHS when you can run it under windows anyway? commandlinerunninginwindows7.jpg) the stangest part is that it runs normal windows commandline executables?

Wow! I think it might have full abilities when run natively, at least when running apps inside of itself. I don't prefer to run emus anyway, but I'm guessing if you try to run something on FreeDOS within Windows 7 that wouldn't run on Windows 7 but would on pre-98, it wouldn't work on the embedded one but would if it was booted natively.

Undie, does this program let you run 16-bit applications for Windows 7 ? That would definitely be a benefit.

DosBOX is good for DOS games, DJ, yep, but it's a real mess to try and run Windows 3.1 program (16-bit) in. You have to install Windows 3.1 first and junk. And no, I haven't found a Windows 7 Windows 3.1 emulator yet ...

I readed 16 bit apps and was thinking you mean 16 bit real mode DOS apps not win 3.1 stuff.

I guess the good question is, IS there a Windows 3.1 emulator for Windows 7 outside of WINE which is a real pain to install ?
I can think of several good Windows 3.1 programs, Castle Of The Winds, is a good game for that OS I remember.
