About Processing, it's open source and I never saw an simpler way to create Java applets and runable standalones with only few lines of simple code before. Homepage: processing.org/It's really easy: processing.org/learning/3d/ View thousands of examples online: openprocessing.orgProcessing is open source and you can use many free extra libs and all Java classes too. for example: Video, Sound, Network, serial hardware I/O, PDF and the collection grows up more and more. Yu can translate your ideas really quickly to a real working app or browser applet. You can test your ideas inside the IDE and a simple click will create an applet and it's html page or a JAVA standalone app in seconds. You can share your ideas with the world on many different plattforms. Joshy

Short update the none stable version of Processing supports the android OS now. You can create Linux, Windows, Mac, Android apps or browser applets all from same source code with one mouse click.

I messed about with Processing a while back when I saw it being used by someone on the Ubuntu forum. Another language that I started using was Jabaco, it lets you use VB6 syntax but compiles to Java bytecode.

The JAVA BASIC Compiler environment is aviable only for Windows. But it's a nice idea for VB6 coders i like it.
