I have been looking for a simple(r) syntaxed BASIC with reasonable functionality and thought I might try Basic4GL. When I tried to download the most recent version my anti-virus reports it as being infected with a Trojan. Subsequent attempts to download the older versions are the same.
Question is: anyone know if there is an alternative download that is clean or is BASIC4GL no longer checked and/or supported?

Hi, I believe these reports to be false positives, I uploaded the installer from the website downloads page to VirusTotal and it gave me these results. I then uploaded the Zipped version of Basic4GL from my own computer and got these results, which seem laughable because I'm an experienced computer user and I know there are no viruses on my machine. :^) The good news is that Basic4GL is still being used and supported; the reason why the forums look a little quiet is because a lot of the talk occurs on the Basic4GL Facebook page here. |

Hi Matthew Thanks for the prompt reply. Guess I will take a chance on it then (perhaps on my spare :-Smachine). Strangely I've never come across VirusTotal before so thanks for introducing that.  |
